The JAT crew got a chance to return to Escape Velocity over the 2019 Memorial Day weekend and do a special live production in honor of the 40th anniversary of both Alien and the TV show Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (as you’ll hear, we reference some of the earlier adventures of Rogers as well). Basically, it’s a sendup of every space opera story you know where a crew investigates a derelict spacecraft and mayhem ensues.

In addition to creating some brand new sound gear for live sound effects, we got to work with our first “special guest voice” as space opera veteran Gigi Edgley was a guest of the convention and graciously agreed to step up to the mic.

Rated AD-PG, so parental guidance is suggested
Contains sci-fi related action and peril (including character death), destroying a robot, destroying a ship (or two or three), repeated use of “dammit,” one use of “frelling,” which if you’ve seen Farscape you know is quite naughty, and computer-based betrayal.

Recorded before a live audience in May 2018, H.G. Wells’s classic “War of the Worlds” gets a Jabberwocky update as we tune in to a special radio broadcast in October 2018, learning of mysterious power outages and “seismic activity” in the Washington, DC area. Could this be related to strange gas eruptions on the planet Mars?

Rated AD-PG, so parental guidance is suggested
Contains scenes of mass destruction and sci-fi violence, including people being incinerated by heat rays, suffocated by poison gas, and, in one case, impaled. I mean, the Martians really aren’t trying to be good neighbors.
